Now updated for 2011
- The engagement letters related to limited company accounts and tax have been updated to cover iXBRL filing responsibilities.
- Engagement letters have also been updated for points raised by a recent release by the ICAEW on managing professional liability.
- The Practice Assurance Compliance Review checklist contained in the manual has been updated to cover areas that are currently topical with ICAEW when making visits on firms.
- Updates have been made to the manual for the recent amendments to the client money regulations that now require all firms (not just sole practitioners) owned or controlled by a single member to have an alternate in place.
- The manual now includes a fit and proper form for audit staff and a separate form suitable for non-audit staff.
The Practice Assurance Manual Subscription Service
Purchasers of the Practice Assurance Manual will automatically be added to our subscription service. This will ensure you always have access to the latest and most up to date manual. By joining the subscription programme, you’ll automatically receive the next update of the manual as soon as it is updated, and every time thereafter, for as long as your subscription is valid. Having ordered a copy of the manual, we will issue your firm with an invoice for the following year’s subscription in 12 months’ time. You may cancel your subscription upon renewal. If you receive an update and wish to return it, as long as you do so within 30 days and do not break the security seal, a credit note will be issued. As we develop the subscription service, we will aim to issue you with updates as they happen, meaning you'll keep your finger on the pulse of quality control updates.
Is there an Equivalent Manual for ACCA and ICAS Members?
Yes. Whereas the Practice Assurance Manual caters for ICAEW member firms, our General Practice Procedures Manual has been tailored specifically to the requirements of ACCA Members. Click here to find out more about our General Practice Procedures Manual for ACCA members.

Security Seals on CD Products
All of our CD products have a security seal attached to them. By breaking the seal, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions of sale. You can return your purchase to us in its original condition within 30 days of the date you received the item with its security seal intact and we will issue a full refund for the price you paid for the item. We can only accept the return of opened items (where the security seal has been broken) if they are faulty.
