How Gerald Edelman can make the difference to your career:
You'll be part of a firm of which our people are proud and to which they are committed - where you'll have an opportunity to contribute, learn, grow and advance based on merit and where you'll be respected, be treated fairly, listened to and involved. Above all you'll generate satisfaction from your accomplishments and your friendships … and you'll have fun in your endeavours.
Opportunities to gain experience:
Gerald Edelman is a well-respected 14 Partner firm which has been established for more than 50 years and, currently, operates from three locations.
You'll help provide a comprehensive range of services to meet clients' requirements. You'll be exposed to and involved with a very diverse range of clients (one third of whom work in or alongside the property industry) and which range from small family concerns to listed companies.
Technologically Speaking
You'll be part of a team which uses technology as part of our everyday routine. You'll be expected to embrace new technologies, and to get involved in any training sessions which benefit the firm by bringing us up to date. Our clients expect us to be ahead of current developments, and Gerald Edelman will give you the necessary skills.
Our commitment to technology can be seen when you visit our website at www.geraldedelman.com
Your Career Development:
As your career develops you can have the opportunity to work with our teams in the following areas:
• Corporate Finance - helping clients to buy or sell businesses, or raising money for them.
• Forensic & Investigative Accounting - providing support to litigation lawyers
• Corporate Recovery & Insolvency Services - helping clients in difficulty
• Business Development Services - increasing the value of clients' businesses, increasing the performance of their businesses
• Taxation - ensuring that clients keep their tax to a minimum
• Bureau Services - lending an accounting hand to developing businesses
• Company Registration Services - looking after legal compliance so that clients can get on with running their companies.
…and Finally:
At Gerald Edelman, we pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with our clients. The way in which we achieve this is to offer you training which, we believe, is special. You'll work with more than one partner, each of whom specialises in their own fields of expertise.
We also have a Client Advisory Board which comprises a panel of our clients who meet twice a year and tell us what they like and dislike about our firm.
You'll like the fact that we are not reactive, but proactive - we call or arrange to meet clients just to see how they are progressing, rather than just deal with matters when they call.
We'll encourage you to discuss issues as a team whenever you like and as often as you like. You'll be important to us, and believe it is our responsibility to help you at all levels - especially helping you to develop and grow as one of our team.

Climb to the top with Nyman Libson Paul and avoid the tedious steps.
Let's be honest, chartered accountancy can be a little tedious for trainees, particularly in some of the larger firms.
Not so with Nyman Libson Paul:
You won't be tethered to a desk labouring over massive jobs that never end. You will be in at the deep end, dealing directly with a range of clients, helping us to develop fast, imaginative and practical solutions to their business problems. One day you could be dealing with a corporate tax issue for a film company, the next investigating new commercial openings for a retailer. In fact, our clients range from major film and television production and distribution companies, London West End theatres, cinemas and media personalities to manufacturing companies, hotels, restaurants and professional firms. In addition, many are medium sized owner managed businesses, giving you the chance to experience and help share dynamic organisations.
Responsibility with First-Class Training:
You will be given responsibilities at an early stage of your career. We do this for two reasons. Firstly, because we believe there is no substitute for experience and secondly, because we want to foster the skills to enable you to think on your feet.
With the support of the partners, you will be thoroughly trained in all aspects of our work, from accounts preparation and auditing to corporate and personal taxation, backed up by the latest technology. Some of this will be on-the-job training and some through courses at a leading London college and PASS with its unique tutorial scheme.
Climb to the very top:
We will encourage you to maximise your potential with excellent career prospects as our emphasis is on internal promotion to both manager and partner level - you won't be stuck on the career ladder by age or hierarchies.
What we expect from you:
We are looking for mature, numerate and intelligent recruits who are willing work hard, study hard and even play hard. Above all, you should have the flexibility to adapt to a variety of challenging situations and the communication skills to express your ideas and deal with clients at all levels.

A Comprehensive Service:
Rayner Essex believes in offering clients a highly personal service in which clients regard us as a valuable asset to their business – people they can contact at any time for sound advice as well as practical assistance.
We provide the full range of professional services expected from a highly experienced and progressive firm of chartered accountants. Rayner Essex understands that in order to achieve the exceptional service that our clients expect we need professional, committed, friendly and motivated people in our team to maintain and develop these standards.
Graduate Trainee’s are given every opportunity to acquire broad experience and develop their personal skills within a dynamic and friendly work environment. Trainees will work towards membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) through a combination of on-the-job experience, in-house training and professional tuition.
We accept applications throughout the year, with two graduate intakes for trainee accountants in January and August.
Trainee’s can expect to gain experience in all aspects of audit, accounts and corporate taxation, with approximately half of their time spent working as part of an audit team at client’s offices.
Here at Rayner Essex we look for people who really want to work for a medium sized independent firm such as ours. Applicants must have a strong academic background obtaining a 2:2 degree or above. Have a minimum of five GCSE’s, including English Language and Maths (grades A to C), and a minimum of 300 UCAS points.
Individuals must have an excellent work ethic and determination and drive to succeed, together with a desire to take on responsibility at an early stage. They must also possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills. Be out-going and comfortable working on their own or as part of a team and above all have a strong interest in an accountancy or business finance career.
A Great Place to Work:
Our working environment is friendly and informal. Various social and sporting events throughout the year help to reinforce strong working relationships and help trainees feel part of the firm from day one.
