This model file is written in the PCAS version of CCH's Audit Automation (ProAudit) software and provides examples of how the ProAudit software can be used in practice, in order to create audit files that comply with the clarified ISAs. This is a ProAudit version of the Manufacturing Company model file that is available online from CCH.
This model file includes worked examples to illustrate how ProAudit can be used to create a complete audit file for a typical medium sized manufacturing company. The model file includes working papers, competed forms and checklists to help you complete audit files efficiently and effectively, whilst ensuring they comply with the clarified ISAs. Two versions of the file are included; the first just before the planning is signed off and the second, the completed file.
The model file is written in the IPCAS06A Master Pack, which itself is based on the paper-based Private Company Audit System (PCAS) methodology. As such, you will need to have this version of the PCAS pack installed in ProAudit in order to load the model file, albeit later versions of the Master Packs are available. If you do not have a copy of this version installed, it can be downloaded, free of charge to ProAudit users, from the CCH Software Support – Download Centre – Audit Automation website, which can be accessed via the link http://www.cch.co.uk/softwaresupport/2011/resources/download_centre/product_download.asp?id=580 . You will need your CCH logon id and password to access this site. The PCAS Audit Master Packs v06A (December 2011) can be accessed from the Previous Audit Packs – PCAS Master Packs – Previous versions option.
The file has been prepared on the basis that it is one of the firm's first audits under clarified ISAs and therefore a number of checklists have been completed. We would expect that in subsequent years, as the auditor becomes more familiar with which issues are addressed on which checklists more of the checklists would be replaced by memoranda.
