Products & Services
The auditing world is undergoing major changes. What with the introduction of the International Standards of Auditing, the increase of the audit threshold up to £5.6 million and the range of new ethical standards, practitioners have never had so much new legislation and red tape to get their heads around.
However, fear not, help is at hand! SWATUK has a range of support services that can keep you abreast of the changes, and give you advice on how to implement them.
Courses
Our courses programme covers all you need to know about the new international auditing standards so that you can convert from UK SAS to International ISA. On our CPD update courses we will be giving practical advice on how to cope with the new auditing standards and what the new ethical standards will mean for you as a practitioner.
Click on the following links below to access the audit courses being run at that particular level:
CPD – our courses are presented by some of the leading authorities on auditing in the profession
Staff Workshops – taking junior staff from the basis of auditing to being able to review an audit file
Technician courses – looking at some of the technical audit issues and practicalities
PCAS (Private Company Audit System) Manuals
SWATUK is the author of this popular audit system, which is distributed by CCH (Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd). As a result of the new International Standards of Auditing, we are currently re-writing the manual to reflect all the new standards and to make sure you can undertake an audit efficiently whilst complying with the new regulations.
Visit www.cch.co.uk for full details.
Kestrian Audit Manual
SWAT will also be writing the updated version of the Kestrian audit manual, which is also distributed by CCH (Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd). This manual is scheduled to be published in June 2005.
All of our audit courses will be updated to use both PCAS and Kestrian to illustrate the changes.
Audit Reviews
The new ethical standards may make it much harder for firms to undertake traditional work for an audit client unless the firm can demonstrate appropriate safeguards. One of the most commonly specified safeguards in both the ethical standards and the exemption standard is an external review of the audit work carried out. SWATUK has a range of audit review services including:
The hot and cold file reviews can be carried out by post in order to minimise the cost for individual jobs. Click on the above links for more information.
If you would like to discuss any of our auditing services, please contact us on 01752 725700, or e-mail info@swat.co.uk.
